Am I the only one who reads wedding announcements and obituaries for pleasure?I mean...when it comes to the wedding announcements and stories, I'm just a sucker for love stories. It's wonderful to read about people coming together and finding happiness. We don't know what's in store for them down the line but reading about the courtship and wedding always makes me say awwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Then I have this thing about interracial/intercultural couples. I guess I like reading about them because I can relate, but moreso because it appeases that part of me that wish we could all "just get along" in this crazy world.
I read obits because we all need to be reminded of our mortality. We ought to think about it daily if we really want to stay on track. When you read an obit, you might ask yourself what (if anything) you are actively working towards so that you can leave behind something good - not just for your kids but for humanity.
In any case, just thought I'd share my thoughts with you.

Yes Terri... I , too, read obituaries and wedding announcements for pleasure. Partially for some of the same reasons that you do, but also to see if I know any of those people,in some direct or remote way. But I do hope that I have and continue to live in a way that is pleasing to God and following the path that he has chosen for me in the right way. I continue to walk by faith and treat all that I come into contact with with respect and dignity.
